Utrecht has a number of shopping areas which are spread out over the city. In the city center, close to the conference venue, one can find a vast majority of small shops with ample opportunity to buy presents or clothes. Those are typically bigger and they house establishments of large shops in The Netherlands. Groceries are also available, but usually somewhat outside of the city center, but still nearby.
